Charlotte Lewis, atriz inglesa, acusou formalmente o cineasta franco-polonês Roman Polanski de abuso sexual nesta sexta-feira, 14, durante um coletiva de imprensa realizada em Los Angeles.

Ela alega ter sido vítima de Polanski durante as filmagens de "Os Piratas", de 1986, quando ela tinha apenas 16 anos. No filme, o personagem de Charlotte chamava-se María-Dolores de la Jenya de la Calde.

“Vim aqui porque soube que Roman Polanski está lutando para não voltar aos Estados Unidos para cumprir a sentença de um crime contra uma vítima de 13 anos, e que seus advogados estão tratando o fato como caso isolado. Eu também sou uma vítima do Sr. Polanski. Ele abusou sexualmente de mim da pior forma possível quando eu tinha apenas 16 anos, quatro anos após ele fugir dos Estados Unidos para escapar da sentença por seu crime.

Além do fato de eu e de a outra vítima sermos menores de idade, acredito que há outras semelhanças entre os crimes cometidos por ele. É muito importante que o promotor e as autoridades suíças levem essa informação em conta ao decidirem o destino do Sr. Polanski. Vim para os EUA por minha própria conta para garantir que a justiça seja finalmente feita, e o Sr. Polanski receba o que merece.
